Thank you so much Cuda Cody and 7E-Bodies, most likely you saved me an airplane ticket to go see this car. Please guys whenever by any chance you will come around Salzburg please let me know as I owe you for sure some bears.

So since this Cuda was NOT matching in spite of being advertised as such I will move on to my next question, this time regarding a 1970 Challenger. This one I already went to see, car was advertised in the high 30k, not matching but real 4 speed R/T, but to my disappointment this Chally was in need of a lot of body work in spite of being advertised as mint. I dropped an offer of 30k (almost reluctantly but after driving 800 km I was really motivated) and the guy refused, now he came back telling me that he would take my offer, but there is just one thing that is bothering me, the car has no fender tag. So the question now, is any change I can check if it is true that the car is a real R/T and was an original 4 speed? From the Vin looks like and R/T. The car arrived to Europe in 2009 from Nevada already without the fender tag.

Two options I believe

1: the car was involved in an accident and lost its fender tag while getting fixed

2: the fender tag was deliberately removed as it would prove that the car is not an authentic R/T or 4 speed

What do you guys think?

If it's an RT, the vin will begin with JS instead of JH. S=RT. Any chance he can locate a build sheet? That's your only hope of truly knowing without crawling under it and seeing of the tunnel has been altered by the shifter.

no build sheet, from the vin is an R/T but who knows if the vin is legit, actually as I am reading in this website the rivets should have a rosette head and in this Challenger they are just round. If I manage to get some pictures of underneath the car would it be possible to tell if it was originally a 4 speed and an R/T?

Possibly, if it was obvious the tunnel had been cut. Dude, you need to RUN not walk away from this scam.  :alan2cents:
