I went to look at a 70 GTX today, after looking the car over I notice the gentleman had a rough and gutted 70 Challenger shell, I looked the car over and noticed it had a skid plate K frame, torque boxes and it was Panther Pink!
It also had the 3/8th fuel line with the vapor return line still intact.
Unfortunately the dash was gone as was the fender tag but I could still read the cowl numbers.
Is it possible to find out what this car started life as with a partial vin?

Good Luck...   It's either...

JS23V0B440370

Or the fuel lines/skid plate don't really belong....

Wonder if the tags live on.....

I wonder if the tags are on another car.
Couldn't it also be JS23R0B440370?

It could be but that K looks very different from a 440 K...

Can you post some photos?  Besides the K frame, the Hemi bodies have some other small differences.

Maybe @6bblgt  or @rocketresto  know something about the history of the car?  :fingerscrossed:

I only took one pic of that car and it was the cowl number.

RV2

Sorry about the bad pic

FRom that picture, it looks more like an original black car or some other dark colour.
What did the owner have to say about it ?
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

Being that it's a 1970, it would have had a blackout cowl, so if the pink is over it then it was repainted pink at some point in its life.   :alan2cents:

Who knows but since it was gutted I could see the pink in all the crevices

What did the owner have to say about it ?

He wants to put it back together.

Did he mention he would sell it?  What did he say it was originally?

I didn't ask if it was for sale, the no numbers thing scares me,he's not sure what it was originally but he did contact Galen about it.

rocketresto

@6bblgt has some info on it, I'll let him chime in.
