I got out my old copy of "How to Rebuild Your Small Block Mopar" for this, but if you break that number down a little you'll probably find more info online.

F=1970
W = Windsor Plant
340
R = Regular Fuel
3157 = Friday, March 12, 1970 (10000 day calendar here - https://maxwedge.com/articles/10k.php)
0568 = 568th engine built that day

A 70 model year 340 with an R designation for fuel?

Take a close look at that and double check it isn't a P

what's the VIN on the block?  :takealook:
0R255759?
   First two digits are half stamped. First could be anything shaped like half and "0". Second digit could be a K.

0 = 1970 model year
R = Windsor, ONT assembly plant (ONLY other possibilities would be "B" or "E")
255759 = from a 340 Swinger

from early April '70 built - LM23H0R255759   :drinkingbud:
