I am about to detail my Dana 60 and found these #'s on the back of the passenger side axle tube. I was hoping that someone could decode these numbers for me.  Thanks!

Cuda Cody

E-body Dana Codes:
603080-1, -2, -4  =  3.54 with Power Lock (Track Pack)
603080-3, -5 = 4.10 Power Lock (Super Track Pack)

The 12-6-9 and 12-13-9 are the date stamps.  I've always seen 2 date stamps on original E-Body Dana's.  I think the first one 12-6-1969 is the date that the axle was welded together and the 12-13-1969 is the date they put the gears in it.

Thanks Cody great info. My car is an A32 car so 410 gears is correct but my SBD is 09 Dec 69?  Could this Dana still be original to my car  if it was assembled after my SBD?

You can get your info to @6bblgt  to see if he can tell you when you car was actually built.  But your "Scheduled Build Date" does not mean your car was really built on that day.  Could have been days or weeks early or later.  If you have your build sheet we should be able to help you find out when it was really built.

Yes I have my build sheet but it is very worn and stained and would not photograph well. The sequence # on the build sheet top left corner is 207834? [last number is obscured]
The sequence number of the VIN is 216695 built at Hamtramck . If these numbers mean anything to you guys it would be great.

I find it interesting that both stamped dates on the axle tube are Saturdays - 12/6/69 & 12/13/69

but due to the:
Christmas holiday schedule (short month - but how short?)
assembly line #2 at Hamtramck being the larger of the two lines (~15,000 cars for Dec.)
& I only have 5 broadcast sheets for the month from line #2

my December '69 "Actual Production Date Calendar" is lacking  :Thud:

not being influenced by your DANA dates, just based on your broadcast sheet - I'd figure your car was "In Plant/In Process" closer to Friday 12/12 than your SPD of Tuesday 12/9 (C09).

I can't confirm or rule out the DANA but it does look like your car was "LATE"

@750-h2 -  what is the time stamp on LINE #5 (BOX 2 & 3) and what "Y" codes are on your car's sheet?

750-h2

bbl6gt thanks for the help and sorry for the slow response [took wife wife out for her birthday :happybday:]. Anyways my Y codes are Y07 and Y14, time clock 18/19. Thanks again!

THANKNS!  I'll add the info & if we can find a few more from line #2 I'll have better info for you.
