Am I nuts to ask for $75 for the heater and $100 for the trim.  The trim has one obvious ding. Looking to sell on craigslist here in Los Angeles.   Thanks

You're not "nuts" to ask that........anybody would be nuts to pay that. :crazytalk:

The heater box still has some good parts on it and the cables are not cheap (if they are good).   You might get someone to bite at $75, but more likely to get a taker at $40 or $50.

Is the heater core new?  Those can be $40 by themselves, but it's hard to know if it was damaged without testing it first.

Here is what I would consider if in the market.

Busted heater box: as is, as shown, ask 50, take 30-35. Cables, motor and core is the only good value. You could probably ebay it, but the fees would eat at anything over any gain.

Molding: $100 is a good start price, not sure if re-popped, if so, more like $50, even with the flaws.

Good luck on the sale.

I cannot see if the J hook that mounts the air intake opening to the cowl is part of this. That is a typical missing and hard to find part. Sometimes you can find this J hook and original bolt/washer at a parts swap, etc. At one time the J hook and the cable mounting clips were not available as repops.

However, you know the old saying, "One man's trash is another man's treasure."

One part that is present is the sprung steel air intake door brake clip. I used to restore heater boxes a long time ago and that was one part that could be a make or break on buying a heater box for parts, if it was present or missing. I never saw one of those loose being up for sale. That is one part, to me, of what makes the heater box to be considered complete.

Just some food for thought...
