Yes, it does...
OK so there really is no difference other than the intake & carbs

6bblgt

1970 440HP 4bbl VS. 440 3x2bbl

externally - intake, carb(s) & air cleaner

internally - timing chain, cam, lifters, valve springs & PISTONS

that is all, folks!

6bblgt

& besides emblems (VIN & tags) nothing else on a identically optioned  "U" VS. "V" code car is different

Gary

We have a 70 Charger U code auto.  It has a C on the pad also.  So  I'm  skeptical about the whole C pad thing also.

Not even the distributor - single vs dual point?  Would the external part number be the same?   :notsure:  :notsure:

440-4 & 440-6 with Auto are single point.... 440-4 & 440-6 4 spd are prestolite dual point.... The part numbers are different but probably missing...

750-h2

My 1970 auto V code definitely came from the factory with the cast iron prestolite dual point distributor. I thought all V codes had dual points? My car has the A32 package so possibly only those had the dual points? Anyone know for sure?

1 Wild R/T

Yes the 4.10's trigger dual points... The engine might see more RPM's than a 3.23 car....

talked with the gentleman again.

Didn't get much info.  Will be driving up the mountains some time soon to go take a look and get pictures.

He did say that the heads are 67 heads that he put on.  I think the original heads are gone, but he has acres and acres of mopar stuff.  So we will see.........

What would the original heads be numbered as?

Original heads are 906's, nothing special... 67 heads are 915's which are IMO the most desirable stock from Big Block heads short of the Max Wedge stuff....

Chryco Psycho

:iagree: 906 heads are easy to get & nothing special as they are open chamber emission heads , the 915 were the best production heads aside from the very rare & expensive max Wedge heads with much larger ports
