Hey all, I have a line on a set of tail panel moldings, show quality condition, but wondering what I should expect to pay?  This is one of the last items I am looking for, but man the price was way more than I anticipated, by like 3 or 4 times... However, as always I fear if I don't jump on what I find I might miss out

How can you be sure they are originals and not reproduction's ?

@anlauto Alan are you suggesting the one could not tell the difference, so why bother with original?  personally, I would not know how to tell the difference.  That being said, assuming they are original what would be a reasonable amount to expect to pay?

Also, if there is no value in using original vs. aftermarket please advise.  I have been trying to get original Mopar whenever I can, but do not need to flush money down the drain either!

No, I was asking if you could tell the difference ? I would hate to see you taken to the cleaners assuming just because they're expensive they're original :alan2cents:

Got it, thank you!  Assuming they are original, what do you think the price range should be?

The edges are crisper not as round also made of heavier metal. Ask the guy for pics and post them, u will know right away.

I will definitely confirm on authenticity; any recommendation on price range?

The originals are easy to tell when you have then in your hand. The end pieces on repops look terrible, the long pieces are better but not oem fit. I hear mike ROSS made the long pieces and they were better. Back to your question, though. The last set I saw for sale was on Moparts and it sold within hours of listing for $400. I bought a Cuda a couple of years ago and the owner had been collecting parts for years. He had an extra set of tail panel stainless he had picked up at a swap meet. It was all nicely taped up to a piece of cardboard with the price he paid, $100! Those days are long gone.

That is what I was afraid of!  I would happily pay $400 twice compared to what I found...oh well, may have to keep looking and hope for the best.  Thanks

For original your going to spend 400-1000. 600 is about the going rate right now. Or you can put a set together. I got corners from 3 different people so I have 1 extra I got at Carlslile for $50 so I couldn't resist and I got the top and bottom straight sections from Tony in DE when I was at his shop picking up something else. Give him a call he might have a whole set or get you part of the way there. Btw that's Tony's parts. Good luck
