Evidently the rear brake hose for 1970 E-bodies has a unique part number. I'm curious what makes it unique.
Does it have something to do with how it attaches to the rear axle ?
Can it be replaced as part of an assembly with the appropriate distribution block ?

Are you looking for factory correct, or just something that works?  The replacements that I have seen and used have the distribution block already connected to the hose.

Link below is for a Raybestos piece from Rockauto.

Bullitt-

I went the other way for my '73 that had the block made on because I wanted braided stainless.
At the time I was able to identify a kit from Russel for a '70 but had to acquire the brass distribution block that mounts on the rear end.... not seeing that kit today but I see this individual rear brake hose .

appears to be a rubber one available

That was my first thought too?  :notsure:

RJChallenger

This brake hose was ordered from I believe, Year One and is supposed to be for the rear axel , The male end looked like it would engage the inverted flare inside the brass distribution block. It looks very much like the one in the OP

OK, I have another rear hose, also from a '70. It looks more like RJChallenger's picture,
although my distribution block looks a little different than his.
I think you gents are correct, the one in my pic looks more like a front hose, but it was on the rear.
Same style of connection. The front hose is only about a 1/2-in shorter than the rear hose.

Does anyone have a picture of a 1971 rear hose ?
The 1971 rear hose is again unique to E-body but same part number as 1970-1971 A-body.

Since the 1970 E-body rear hose appears to be totally unique, what do you replace it with
if you cannot find one ?

In my opinion...
1970 = Raybestos BH36648
1971+ = Raybestos BH36650

Although I've seen a lot of 70's with a separate block like 71+

Both listed at Rockauto :bigthumb:
