disc brake clips

Where is the best place to get these clips?  I see some online, but they are $60 - $65 for 4.  Seems a bit high.  We are using 73 disc brake parts on our 70.

Yea they are expensive and the reproduction ones break easily. I actually didn't put them on the last time.

The brakes will operate perfectly without them , you may get rattles or squealing though .

Isn't it true the later models did not get the clip?  I don't recall my '73 having them.

They're just anti rattle clips. I don't imagine the repro ones even provide the correct tension. Not necessary.

73's had them... 77's had them.... The repo's are junk, you don't need them...

You can accomplish the same think using a spring.    :alan2cents:

Although I use them on my pin-type calipers, I don't see any positive usage of them... they can be loose, or I'd stretch them wider so to be a little snug and not loose.   I've thought of not using them in the future next time I change pads.
