Evaporust on my drums

So my brakes work well.  Disc on the front, drums on the rear.  I'm killing time since there are no shows anytime soon.  If if take of the rear drums and drop it into evaporust in order to remove the rust off the outside will it ruin the inside brake surface?  In in short can I drop the whole drum in the tank without any negative repercussions?

I love evaporust . As long as you get it out of the bucket and rinse and dry it quickly. I think it will turn out great.
