I found these during my recent garage cleaning. They both came off my December built, 1970 Hemi Charger R/T-SE 4-speed 30+ years ago but I never labeled which side was which.
Anyone have an idea which one is left and which is right? I want to be able to describe them accurately if I go to sell them.

Thanks

Thanks guys. I don't have an old Mopar to compare them to at the moment and I forgot if they were front or rear facing units.

So I presume there is no way the 86166 was original to the 70 Charger right? Might actually be a spare from one of my 71 6BBL ragtops? I found one in the basement and the other in the garage. It was like a game of concentration the past few days. I knew I had seen a second caliper somewhere on my property in the last few months and I was right! It was in the basement!

the "wide mouth" 80012 is considered 70-71 where the other one would be later....When you mention the cars of your past....any regrets ? any...man I should have kept that one ? :stop:

The KH80012 looks like a driver's side, I'd be interested- as I just put an "incorrect" one on after not finding any 1970 units around.  Let me know when you decide to list it.

Thanks!

Just an observation on the 80012 caliper, i see it has a casting date (I believe I am correct with this) of 323 (323rd day of 1970) which would make this a 70 style caliper for a 71...or a replacement parts counter item??
Or, as the style is 70 only, is the 323 the 332rd day of 69.
How did they differentiate the 1969 from the 1970 castings?

I have a set of wide mouth with 254 and 281 dates, which might also make them early 71 usage, unless they really are the 254th and 281st day of 1969.

The castings don't really indicate a year.

correct - no year in the casting, but they are really '70 ONLY & very few early (Aug. maybe Sept. '70 built) 1971 model year vehicles until on hand supply was depleted

254 = Thursday 9/11/69 & 281 = Wednesday 10/8/69

if the castings are real clean - the machining date will be visible & it contains the year  :takealook:
