Hi,

Have a 71 340 Cuda,  just about everything is original.

Car came from the factory with no powered steering.

Q. Could installing a refurbished Cuda power steering negatively affect the car´s value or any other aspect?

No, just save the original stuff and give it to the next owner. It's just a bolt on part that can be changed back easily.

just get a core and have it rebuilt. I have a 68 core that was rebuilt by Firm Feel....stage 3. All it needs is either a Federal pump or a saginaw and have Marty at powersteering.com rebuild it. I have the hoses etc. Its relatively easy and if you use Chrysler parts its a bolt on project.

Not sure how old was the version of the Borgeson box that Summit is carrying. They had fitment and alignment problem when the box first came out. It was corrected afterward. I suggest you reach out to Peter Bergman for some Q&A, link below. They also have the adapter so you don't have to cut the steering shaft. Peter price is high but no issue on part fitment. You might want to source the power steering pump and hoses from Rock Auto to save some money. The picture of the Borgeson box also look different from the one on Summit. I got mine from Peter plus also running Hydroboost. Runs great and no leaks for two years now.

You'd be better off sourcing the original parts and installing it. It's not that bad to do and you then have something that looks original versus that Summit kit.

Besides the price for a Borgeson kit 999065,  is it a good option?
I am outside the USA and prefer to spend more money but be sure to get all parts right and that I am satisfied with the system.

I read some claims about a hissing noise.

I guess it depends on how original your car is or how original you want to keep it . For me I would hunt the factory parts .In saying that the kit looks ok  please keep us updated,or send a picture of your car good luck
