Rallye Wheel Inspection Markings?

While prepping my Rallyes for resto, I found some markings on the back that I hadn't noticed before. Anyone ever seen this type of marking? I expect they're factory or manufacturing markings, but I guess you can't rule out some one doing something at a tire shop. These are original paint, matched date of 5/5/70.

Couple other anal tidbits. There's some red paint residue from the drum paint on one rim and one still has the white dot valve stem cap. Pretty cool..

I can't recall any marks like them. Looks like factory style pencil though. I could see a tire shop checking for runout and marking high or low spots but not likely they would use a marker like that.

You might call those white dot valve stem caps but thats not a cap, it's an extension.... You can put air into the tire through the extension...

Looks like USA wheels not Canadian....

Right.  That's because of the trim ring I imagine.

When I worked at the Chrysler/Plymouth dealer in the 70's I put thousands of those extensions on. Hup caps / Trim Rings usually came in the trunks on new cars so they didn't get stolen in transit.
