The steering coupler was not all the way in so after reading a few threads it says it should go in all the way but there's only one way for it to go in ? Is that right ?

I noticed that on my challenger the shaft coupler looks the same and I don't see a slot or anything to indicate it's in straight

I included some pics and it seems like my coupler can be inserted in anyway leaving the steering wheel crooked

I also see a hole in the shaft is that an indicator ?

How would I know it's in straight ?

I Loosened  the bolts so it came out but I can slide it in anyway it seems
Help and thanks all

the master spline on the coupler is usually where this "notch" is, I would line that up & see if it will slide all the way on to get the roll pin installed

Alright thank you I really needed some reassurance
I'll try that tomororw
Because even if you look there you can't see anything in the splines at least I don't it and I tried sliding it in different turns and sure enough it goes in on all of them

I've seen then that were just hammered on. It will make splines in the coupling.

The main spline on your steering box in your second picture should be top dead center.
The two holes in your fourth picture along with the notch Dan pointed out should all line up top dead center....do that and you should be okay. :alan2cents:
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

I've come across a few couplers over the years that have had the master spline removed. Its not hard to do with a triangle file.
