Mr Cuda

I thought I'd throw mine in as a data point,  as it's original to the car.   12/15/70 spd with a smudged and so far non duplicate date.

Quotesince 34070 may be legit ( @TWS is there an actual pic? ) & the 22769/22770 are known reproductions - I've used 0 = Sunday, 1 = Monday, 2 = Tuesday, etc.

Sorry, my wording should have been more explicit. It was a "for example". Not an actual pic as an example, so maybe it shouldn't be included in our list without a pic?

Thank you Dan for keeping this list running! :bradsthumb:

@Mr Cuda are you seeing "17470" or is that first digit something else?

Mr Cuda

Yes, I'm reading 17470. As we have seen in this previous post, the ink stamp cam leave a picture frame around the numbers.  Mine is sloppy to the extreme.

I wonder if there is a 5 digit stamp on this prototype ? unit.
Notice the clamp and bottle label.
Mentions " tire is a 7.75-14 reguarless of what size tires are on the car"
which we know was true for early cars, later ones have F-78-14 replaces 7:75-14

Tim, where did the image you attached for this post, come from? The one titled "Inflator Spare Hardware".

Has anyone seen any examples earlier then 38269 = 38th week 2nd day (Tuesday) 9/16/69?

Good question.  What made me wonder was how at least one other item early in the production year didn't have a date code (rims).  I hear people say, and have seen, bottles with no date code assuming it was wiped off long ago.  The ink stamp doesn't see the elements and it is in the recessed area of the bottom of the bottle.  Who cleans the bottom of their space saver bottle?  LOL  So perhaps the early bottles didn't have codes?
