One of the things on my list for my Challenger-assuming I ever get around to working on it- is a tilt column.  After installing seats from a late model Challenger which raised the seating height a bit and making my own instrument panel with Autometer gauges, I find that the steering wheel rim tends to block my view of the gauges somewhat.  After playing with steering wheels and installing a different "can" under the wheel, I have come to the conclusion that a tilt column might help me a bit although that is not guaranteed :D.  Shrinking with age may be my best hope but the two inches I have lost has not helped that much LOL

Shopping tilt columns, I find some listed around $350 toward the bottom end and up to $1200 at the top for IDIDIT and Flaming River.  I would guess that the bottom end are imports and I don't find any user data on them.

Anyone here have any recent experience or guidance on such?  I figure Brad has tried at least 5 of them :D

Thanks!

Steve

A tilt column from a late 70's cordoba or similar can be made to work. @ShelbyDogg  on cc.c had a 'how to' I think.
Not sure if he frequents the sites that often anymore?

Hi Rob nice to hear from you, it's been too long! , do you still have your convertible or did it sell?

Thanks, dodj, I remember the write up, now that you linked it from long ago.  ShelbyDogg, it's good to see you are still around.  I will drop you an email!

Look for my black 5.7 swapped 72 HemiCuda in the April edition of Mopar Action, p34
I still have my Convertible and will have it at the New Orleans Mopar show next Saturday 3-14-20. The poor car has a lot of miles on it now and needs a freshening up or a new owner.

I have a late 70s tilt/telescope column sitting around that may someday find its way into my car.  Just haven't got around to working on it at all.
