From the pic it looks like that's not a shaker lid it looks taller..Additionally, the shaker lid doesn't have a lip that protrudes down over the air cleaner element it's a more of a quickly "rolled" lip...

Marty

That thought did cross my mind.

Thank you for your input.

Time to wrap things up on this Barracuda project.

The Barracuda has been on a few road tests and there have been no issues. No leaks, no studders, no hiccups, no overheating. Rides great on the back roads and becomes an animal when the six barrels are opened up. It's hard to believe this car runs and drives considering what it started out as, an empty shell.

Now my wallet can stop bleeding and heal. :takemymoney:

The last thing I had to decide on was what tires to use. Most said to run the BFG's. I seriously thought about it and checked out the other brands. Considering the theme of the Barracuda, I just couldn't do it. I went with the Good Year Poly Glas.

The only thing I need to do now, is give it a good through cleaning to get it ready for the big show next month.

Looking really sharp, I agree you did it right with the polyglas tires.

Thank you avatar_Marty @Marty for sharing the journey.  Great car in a great color combo with great drivetrain options.  I hope you will continue to post pics from time to time.

Job very well done!

avatar_Marty @Marty all I can say is WOW!  Looks amazing, great job and congrats - I feel ya on the wallet healing - mine is bleeding out at the moment!

Would love to see a tour and some of the other rides hiding in there!
You can't buy happiness, but you can buy horsepower and that's kind of the same thing.....

Thank you, Mike. Hopefully members got something useful from my posts.

Other than the show next month, I plan to get the Barracuda appraised. I'll post results from both events.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

It hasn't really sunk in yet that the Barracuda is finished. Years of buying and installing was the norm. But... the "painful" $$$ part has disappeared. (It will for you too.) I can enjoy the results of my labor starting at the big show next month.

Good luck and hang in there on your 'Cuda. :handshake:  I'm one of your biggest supporters.

Very nice job!

Is there another project car in the making?

I can only speak for myself but I thoroughly enjoyed following your wallet thinning journey with this car. And yes I picked up a few useful tips on restoring/refinishing.
Looks like you built yourself a real nice buggy to tool around in. Looks great!

Thank you.

I just finished up a 1971 Challenger and I'm now in the middle of a 1969 Road Runner... just paint though. I could post up the Challenger at a later date. There may be some items I did that may interest some.

I think we'd all like to see your Cuda with rubber bumpers ... maybe you could squeeze that little project in somewhere  :tool:

I seriously thought about it, along with the rear window louvers. I went back and forth about it for months. I decided to pass on it. Although...there's no guarantee I won't get motivated to change things up someday.
