So we received the Nuke Performance stuff from Sweden and it includes the 60L fuel tank, CFC unit to house fuel pumps, level sensor and everything that's needed within the tank. It allows for an additional third fuel pump if needed. We are planning for Walbro 525 (Hellcat used) fuel pump as the main pump.

Right now the final "big boss" under the car is to get the fuel tank nicely fitted so that it takes the least room out from the trunk and allows for the original under license plate refuelling. They are a little worried that there will not be enough height difference but they are thinking of some solutions. Here are some pics that I just recently took:

P.S.

The black hose that came with the Nuke Performance set will not fit so they need a custom solution for that.

Weird note - for some reason the original door panels feature a 'Cuda emblem and also there was a Cuda emblem in the back. However, the car was originally a 318 with BH code. Wonder if someone was upbadging it back in the day...

The fuel tank has been fitted but the support frame is being worked on to make it "smoother" and waste less space in the trunk. The engine radiator and Vintage Air system have been fitted.

Next after fuel tank install is fuel supply and return line installation.

Common practice.  Easy replacement part.  That would have to be the first pieces to rebadging.

Nice project, I'll follow along.
The crate motor sounds awesome over the 5.7.

You mention the car is a BH car, Does it retain it's fender tag, Broadcast sheet or window sticker?

Solid progress it looks like now.

My good friend helped me acquire a brand new 6.2L Redeye crate engine which takes this project to a whole different level. I also bought an 8HP90 off a Hellcat Challenger that had only driven 3000 miles before getting salvaged. The change of engine plans has currently increased the project budget remarkably but I am saving money on engine tuning, custom wiring, custom coding etc. These costs would have easily been in the 10k+ EUR range. It also saves a lot of time for me.

Current state is that the 6.2 is nicely fitted with 8HP90. The engine fits perfectly on the existing custom engine mounts made for 5.7. There is also enough room on all sides but some work needs to be done with the radiator since the 6.2 uses more space in the front. Modifying the radiator mount is work in progress at the moment.

The 8HP90 also fits quite well but it's slightly longer and the rear mount location needs to be modified.

The great thing about the Redeye crate engine is that Mopar has provided pretty much everything to get the engine going just like in the factory made car. I had to buy a rather expensive kit from Mopar that includes the ECU, engine wiring, air filter and some other OEM components. I am still waiting for the accessory kit (alternator, power steering pump and accessory belt components). This kit has been in back order already since the end of summer. Seems like some suppliers are not getting a delivery very easily on this one.

Since I'm a marketing and branding guy in my work life  :D  I've decided to name this car to 1970 Demon Cuda. I've done enough research to verify that the Redeye crate engine is quite identical to the original Challenger Demon and they say the power rating was slightly adjusted with ECU just to keep the Demon more powerful in factory specs. It has become a rather sophisticated restomod project and some of you may not agree but I think this car deserves this nickname.

Finally some pics:

Thanks man! It will hopefully be a wonderful combo. I was just yesterday at the workshop and our whole project is basically waiting behind engine related Front-end Accessory kit 77072492. It seems like the kit is on backorder pretty much all over the US so our Estonian dealer is also waiting in the queue. Since we can't fix the engine position 100% until the alternator, power steering and accessory belt are in their places, we can't work out the exhaust headers, the exhaust, transmission rear attachment and so on.

The bit of a sad thing is that most of the floor work needs to be re-done. The previous work that was carried out years ago by someone else simply doesn't look good. It's made out of plain sheet metal pieces which will likely cause resonance and not have proper resistance to forces. We will likely need to send the car to bodyworks once the engine and transmission are in place. I was hoping to get electricity done after engine work but now they think we should have the body and floors done first - otherwise cable lengths, ECU + other module placements can't be predicted so well.

I also have an issue with the rear end. This one is the 8 3/4 axle and it's not going to swallow the power and torque of the Redeye engine. I am likely going the Dana 60 route at some point and will acquire it from this provider: https://www.doctordiff.com/strange-60.html

Greeting from Estonia.

I'm going to write in english, so everyone understands.

Glad to see Anryos old car getting done and done good. I saw your car at ES racing video some time ago.

The floors were always a bad touch on the build. I just put a amd floor into my Cuda. So yeah, there is another 70 Cuda in Estonia.

I think we have now 4 70s cudas and one ´73 (made into a '71).

Still searching for my first Barracuda/Cuda. Let me know if you have something

Curious if you can reprogram the PCM, or do you need a different one?
