OK guys, there is good news and bad news...

...good news first:

After I didn`t have any keys to my car and already posted that I put in new door locks, I now managed to make my key-less ignition-lock work with the new door-locks keys!

If anyone wants to know how to get a lock re-used again that you lost your key of or you just want to match all your cars locks to work with only one and the same key, I wrote a pictured-tutorial you can find here:

https://forum.e-bodies.org/interior/6/how-to-match-ignition-lock-and-locks-to-any-key/2844/msg41306#msg41306

Second good news is that I found out how rare Shaker-CHALLENGERS are! Only 184 for 1970 and with 224 a little bit more for 1971, totaling to only 408 factory-Shaker-CHALLENGERS! Comes even better: only 15 of these were RT/SE`s!!! Mine is one out of fifteen!!!

Will post more to that Shaker-Hood-topic in the proper thread already existing in the "reference-material"-section...thread is named sth. like "N96 shaker hoods".

Now the bad news:
The reason for the very little progress (=> only ignition-lock) on "shaky SHAKER" in the last time is I broke my right hand on July 8th...and wasn`t knowing so until July 14th! Due to pain I couldn`t do wrenching after July 8th and I am now waiting for my surgery.

I am super-annoyed, as I am right-handed, so it is a big restriction for me now. I do like sports and wrenching most and both isn`t possible for at least the next 4 more weeks!

So if you find more typos and Germanisms in my posts than you are used to, please excuse, but I am glad to be able to post at all...and at the same time annoyed of typing with my left hand.

Hopefully I can make it to our German Mopar Nationals in 2 weeks WITH my RoadRunner, though knowing I can`t prepare the car...maybe washing is possible...we`ll see.

Oh no Toby! I am so sorry to hear about your hand! I know it is annoying, but try to enjoy the "time off".  Keep us posted. When is your surgery?

Man, that's tough luck.  I know how you feel.  It's never easy to take time off for an injury, but better to take the time to get it fixed right now then send the rest of your life with little nagging pains and problems.

Ouch: Six days with a broken appendage, that sounds like something I would do. I hate going to doctors.

Thanks all for your wishings in fast recovery. Will try to make the beste out of it: have lots of time to crawl the www now and do more history research on my car and "brain-wrenching". Will be out of the job for in total at least 6 weeks, luckily in Germany health-insurance pays all medical costs and your sallary comes in full, too.

@Laura: surgery is on next weeks Thursday...nearly 3 weeks after the the accident and two weeks after diagnosis. Would have expected surgery within 1 week after diagnosis, but life taught me a lesson in this.

@Cody: yes, I am going to get it fixed correctly...I need the right hand in 100% shape for the favorite things I do: sports and cars and motorbikes.

@Sheldon: I hate doctors, too, but hospitals are even worse...they are no good environment to get healthy again.

RUNCHARGER

Ha, ha. Hospitals are where you get sick, with all the germs and such floating around there.

@ fendertag-typo "P37":

just corrected my thread-opening-post in that, that the correct code for "power windows" is P31 and NOT - as I initially wrote - P33, because P33 is the code for "power VENT windows".

As P31 is the correct code for "power windows", this explains even better the factory-typo of "P37" (convertible power roof), because the numbers "1" and "7" are stylewise VERY close on a fendertag.

now that you have them, lets see pics of the fender tags  :wowzers:

Toby, sorry about your broken hand.  I broke my fifth metacarpal in a work accident many moons ago.  Had to have surgery to pin the bone together.  Was in a hard cast for 4 weeks and then a splint for another couple of weeks.  All is well now so I'm sure your surgery will be a success as I'm sure techniques have improved significantly since I had my surgery.  I also came very proficient at the "hunt and peck" style of typing then.   :)

Brad,

thanks for your kind words and glad to know everything went allright when you had your hand broken.

My surgery was last week, my first surgery ever. Narcosis was pretty well done and surgery, too, as far as I can judge until now...will show in the end if my hand will be in the same 100% condition as before, but I am hoping positive.

Had a cast for good two weeks, now got a light brace, which is much less anoying and allowed me to attend two car shows this weekend, which were a real highlight to me. One was our German Mopar Nationals...took pics...will upload them in a couple of minutes in that seperat thread that still exists in the "general ebody discussion"-section...might ask Cody to move that GMN-thread to the "Events"-section.

Here is the link: https://forum.e-bodies.org/cuda-and-challenger-general-discussion/2/german-mopar-nationals/3042/

Everybody is invited to take a look on that thread and to see what Mopars have made their way to Germany and other European countries.

Here you go, folks!

Yes, I know now they are repros...AG Backeast told me they were not the ones that did these.

I am pretty sure, that these tags were made once based on the proper broadcast-sheet to my car, but that whoever performed this work just didn`t know what codes listed on that BCS are usually NOT stamped on a fendertag (here: H31 - rear window defogger).

Thanks to Detlef ( @Culvers ) and Dan ( @6bblgt ) for hinding me on "H31"-topic. I first thought I had seen H31 on original 1970 fendertags before, but I re-checked that and those tags I had in mind/seen were 1971 fendertags. For 1971 cars it is ok that H31 is on their fendertags, but not for 1970 cars.

Eventually any differences for mid/late 1970 cars ("70.5") regarding H31-code?

Also Detlef hinded me to another probably wrong code on my fendertag: "EN2". Detlef reasoned this by my SPD April 15th being too late to be built on assembly line 2 ("EN2"). I am sure I will receive answer on my question what is the source to proof that info and especially what that source claims as latest possible SPD that used "EN2".

Latest 1970 e-body I could find until now with "EN2" on his original fendertag is JH29-Challenger SE with an SPD of March 20th 1970, see attached photo of the single red fendertag. That spd 320 isn't really that far off of my SPD 415...and there are signs that the Shaker-cars with SPD415 (like mine) where actually built a couple of day before SPD 415!

The VON-range is prooven to me, as I found one car with a VON higher than mine and one with a VON lower than mine and that with a in total differenc of our VON-range of only 100!!! So my VON is within a proven-to-exist range and by what I found out until now, I assume my car is originally from the eastern US-states...maybe even to narrow down to the north-eastern states ("New England").

So I am sure you all want to "jump" on my fendertags...feel free!  :pixiepop: :pixiepop: :pixiepop:

No EN2 after mid january

your posted fender tag shows B20, not 320

Thanks, Detlef, for input. And what is the source for that info, please?

Cause right after you had emailed me last week, I started to search the www for infos when and why assembly-line #2 wasn't used anymore, but did not find anything.  :notsure:
