Ok, let me correct it...  Erik doesn't want Alan to fix it, he's seen what Alan considers acceptable work....  He would like for Alan to pay for some of the costs associated with making his car presentable.... Which Alan isn't willing to do...

Of course not. No business ever would. I believe you said you were a mechanic? If you did something like a brake job or whatever, and the customer wasn't happy so he took it somewhere else to get re-done but asked you to pay for it? You would likely say no. But you probably would have been willing to correct the deficiencies yourself....

It would never have left my shop til I knew it was right. so we wouldn't need to have this discussion.... 

FWIW I don't work on cars professionally anymore, I've found work that is easier on my body and pays considerably more.... 

Like I have already said if Alan somehow felt the paint was acceptable then he isn't qualified to be doing restoration work... If he didn't feel it was acceptable then he has some explaining to do... 

I absolutely do not blame Erik for not wanting to send his car back to Alan...  Then there's the matter of dealing with shipping a car back to Canada a second time.... 

Whatever the case I'm sure it will get worked out....

I hope Sydways car turns out great & that he is happy with it....

Thank you @Spikedog08  for shutting this down.  I'm done with the drama.  The next person that starts any drama (right or wrong) is banned.  Let me say that again, I'm done seeing drama on this forum.  Don't care who starts its.  Drama = banned.  Period. Done and over with.
