The 2229171 will be casted on the bottom of the master cylinder and yes it can be sent to White Post Restoration in Virginia to be repaired. That will be a very nice ride when finished.

White Post used to mess up rebuilding 9171s, and then would cop an attitude when the customer would call and say their MC didn't work.
I'm not sure if they ever figured out what they were doing wrong, or if they still mess up?
Brake and Equipment Warehouse in MN is the place to go to have 9171s sleeved and rebuilt.
However as I posted here recently, the kit used to get seals to rebuild these was discontinued by Raybestos recently.  So act fast to get yours restored, or buy a MK 551 kit to have on hand when the time comes to rebuild.  Just don't send it to White Post, where they use the too short primary piston from the kit, rather than remove the seals to use on the correct original piston.

@Eds cute assistant  that trim is pretty hard to come by.  Great find!

Hey Ed.  70, 440, RT/SE myself.  Non matching but , and I know yours will be better restored than what I could do in my garage.  Keep posting pics.
