Hello Everyone, I wanted to post some pictures of the 1970 Barracuda Gran Coupe Convertible I just bought. It is a super highly loaded car with A/C, power windows, six way seat, am 8 track radio, light group, moulding package, cruise, console automatic, fy1 paint, front bumper guards, and lots more.
I have the original window sticker and owners packet and yoiu can see this was a VERY expensive car when new, compared to most e bodies.
The car is completely numbers matching throughout and has been sitting since 1985 and possible longer.
The car has no collision damage and the only rust is in the trunk, quarter extensions, lower quarters and front footwells. There are a couple very minor rust places here and there but nothing of any size. The rust is from mouse nests as the car was full of them at one time. Some of the wiring is also chewed up but there is enough to restore.
All the convertible specific items are excellent including the original rear panels.
I have several customers cars to finish but should be able to get on this one by the end of this year.

What an option list! I'll be checking on your build, post pics when you can.

Now that is an awesome car!

Does it retain it's build sheet?

yes there was a build sheet but it was for another gran coupe (factory error)
.
I was very excited for a couple minutes until I checked the VIN and it was wrong.

You might want to list that full vin in case that person is looking for their build sheet.  They might have found yours in their car.

Still cool that you found a build sheet at all.   I'm assuming you have looked everywhere.

I see the interior code is P6A0
Can someone please explain what the A0 is.

I see on the order sheet that the interior color is Black.  All the panels are black as well.

Not once have I seen A0.

The build sheet I found is for 1970 Barracuda gran coupe hardtop BP23G01B140896.
This is a vitamin c orange, black gator grain top, front rubber bumper car.
If this car is out there I will happily give this sheet to the owner.

What are your plans for this car Steve ? An OE to the tag type resto ?

I plan to eventually take it down for a total rotisserie resto and yes restored to the tag and window sticker. The only things I will add is a rallye hood (I have a super nice original 70 only hood) and a rallye cluster.
I really see no reason to make it a cuda clone or modify the driveline with duals and a 4 barrel. Those could always be added later if wanted.
The more I look the car over I think I will pull the engine and transmission, rebuild both, go through the suspension, brakes and differential. Basically do a mechanical restoration. I will have to rebuild all the wiring harnesses from mouse damage too.
Once I do the mechanical resto I will just drive the car with the patina and rust places like it is. There is no structural rust issues so even though the trunk floor is weak it should still be ok as a local cruiser.
Then once I have some fun driving it like that pull it apart for a complete nut and bolt body and interior restoration.
