I got tired of looking at this poor girl in her current state...a good friend of mine who owned a shop is coming to take her to his shop in a month or so to get it running and finish the brakes....he said 5 1/2 years is enough!!!  I'm very thankful for this!!!  So I'm the meanwhile I got a wild idea and  I decided to paint it semi gloss black with brass monkey color wheels (not done yet) like the newer challengers.  I'm waiting on my new seats to finish the interior....I should be able to driver her home within the next month or so!  Can't wait!!!!!!!  Oh I know the flat black is  kinda overused but I don't have the $$ to paint it yellow like I want..that will be a no more child support present to me next year!!..just want her to look presentable which for never painting a car or using a spray gun I'm happy and learned a ton!!!

LOL! Welcome to my club! I did the exact same thing on my 74. I had a blue fender, bare steel doors, lots of bodywork and wanted to make it at least one colour and I think we did the right thing until a lottery win- or ambition- comes in. Look good!  :bigthumb:

Not to mention it is sealed from the elements, and you have a guide to see ware the body work is at. :wrenching:

I came over to the other side also-Sorry for  your loss---glad to hear you are back at it and your wife was right She will get the first ride as long as you are driving the car...

Several people on another thread asked me about how I added my sparco wheel to my challenger so I thought I would share...before and after..

dodj

Could you share the part number of the quick release adapter that mated to the ebody column? Or where you got it?
:drinkingbud:
Thanks
Scott

Sorry for the crappy pics by the way...I've always loved the sparco steering wheels so I decided to put one in (to go with my corbeau seats). The problem has always been that they are all 6 hole and no one made a adapter for them and ebodies...I settled for a grant (which are all 5 hole)...it felt cheap to me so I started to research and found several companies make them!  The cheapest I found was actually on eBay....I order it and my wheel...put it on but found an issue at least for me...the factory crash can is about 5 1/2 inches....the new one was only 3 inches...it put the wheel closer to the dash which made it harder to get out of the car and shift through the gears...I want liking the way it sat so I decided to get a quick release set up also off ebay...it was a simple install..one part just screws to the crash can and the other to the back of the wheel...really nice piece!  It's actually easy to get the wheel on and off..just push the button and slide the cupler up and the wheel slides off...that all being said it moves the wheel out to where the factory wheel is (5 1/2 inches)....it makes it easy to get in and out of the car(im 6'2 220) and makes an easy anti theft system!!  Hope this helps someone!!

Perusing through the old topics here and came across this one.    How's the car looking today?  Do you still log in here at all from time to time?

I'm from Marysville as well, and have multiple connections with law enforcement, though mostly over in Delaware County where my wife and I grew up.  You mentioned being a K9 handler...current position or retired?   Couple good friends of mine from high school were K9 handlers in the central Ohio area too.

Anyway, mostly wanted to introduce myself and see if you're still on here at all.    Once both our cars are finished, we'll have to take them out to get some exercise.  I don't know that I'll be getting a road race license, but I definitely plan to set the car up for spirited driving, not to sit pretty in the garage collecting dust!!

My project has been stalled out as well and I am just now getting back to it.   I took it off the road back in 2006 due to some burned exhaust valves from a blown brake booster vacuum leak.  Left active duty, joined the reserves, went to Afghanistan, had 2 kids, multiple moves, quit work to get a 2nd bachelors degree at Ohio state....  It's time to get back at it!

Pic of my car as of last night before the OSU game...   Disassembly in prep for panel replacements!

(EDIT: I don't know why its posting upside down... I removed it, edited the file on my computer to change the orientation, reposted it, and it's still upside down  :dunno:)
