Going to start a thread here even though it's an A-Body...
A year into it now but I will post some more from the beginning to get the thread up to date.
Mostly been keeping updates on FABO.
My Project Photo Album:   https://goo.gl/photos/XjsAsx4LDo7psimU8

Today I worked on getting the correct measurements for a Dr. Diff Custom 8-3/4 Housing and axles for the fish.
Set the old leaf springs up with the Dr. Diff .5" offset hangers and set the 17x9 year one wheels in the wheel wells where I thought they would look good. Not having a housing that has the perches in the right location, I just set the B-Body housing that came with the car in there to get the wheels eyeballed.
With the car resting on the old leaf springs and the springs resting on jack stands I got the center of the axle housing just a touch lower than the center hole of the wheels. Figure that it will sit a little lower than an empty shell...
Moved the tires around until I got them where they have clearance from the springs on the inside and from the wheel opening inner lips on the outside.
Measures 56.5" from back of wheel to back of wheel.
Going to give Cass the measurements, my Cherokee Rear Disc Brake setup and have him build me an 8-3/4 to fit.
Here is a couple views of the mock-up...

Looking up at the clearance from the wheel opening lip.

:unbelievable: You've come a long way since 3/2016 and with such attention to detail! Congratulations on making such great progress!

I've got a soft spot for the A-body Barracudas as well.  They are a lot of work and yours looks like it will be awesome when done.  Here are a before and after pic of my '68.
Contrary to the opinions of some, I am not dumber than I look.

That is a great example of what can be done with something that starts out extremely rough.  :bradsthumb:
Cars like yours and other Mopar folks have been great inspiration and teachers.
Never would have started a project like this if it were not for those that have shared so much with me and others on forums like this!

Really nice work! I'm building this one for a friend and I know how much work it is to get all that sheet metal lined up on these. Keep up the great work and keep the pics coming. I also enjoy watching these old cars come back from the dead to be better than ever intended.

Quality work from Fenders and Fins in Woodinville WA. They painted my 70 also.
Love Black on cars. My favorite color. This one is for my son and his choice is Viper Gun Metal Pearl.
It's a really nice color too and you don't see many Muscle cars that color.

Must be the 69 I saw in the background of your 71 pictures. Really outstanding work Shane.
Everyone should have a friend like you... :clapping: :worship:
Hope we get to see both cars together as some point when finished!  :ohyeah:
