I saw this 72 Cuda with the grill painted the body color and wondered was this a factory option. I then saw a 73 Barracuda claiming all original paint and looked like this pic was from long ago and the grill  was painted yellow like the blue one. So what's the real answer because my 73 Cuda is argent.

in a deal similar to 1971 ....

the 1972 model year started with 'cudas (BS23s) available in 16 colors, having a body color grill STANDARD in the following 6 colors:
FE5, EV2, FY1, TB3, GB5, GF7

:unbelievable: You learn something new every day! Thanks for this, 6bblgt...! My 73 was originally Tahitian Gold Poly, so has Argent grill... PO repainted it, did not like the color, and switched it to Lemon Twist... that should have included painting the grill! Now I know...

The yellow car is very curious if original paint because there are NO body colour grills in 73-74.....that stopped in the 1972 model year as far as I understand.

I found the yellow Cuda by googling 73 Cuda painted grill and it came up in a for sale ad. It showed 4 pics 3 of the condition and this old one so I figured maybe they did in 73. It was in Auto Trader Cadillac MI. classics. So I looked at it again after reading y'alls posts and now only one pic comes up and it says it is a BS23 car original paint and must be a 318 car with not having engine call outs on the hood. Who knows it could of slipped by and got painted, but 6bbl answered my initial question correctly and that's what I was looking for.

I doubt the yellow car left the factory that way, but back in the day, dealers would do anything to make the sale....45 years later...who knows  :dunno:

And one day ,with the Totally Auto argent paint I bought, my 73 will lose the body color grille.
