So progress is coming along on the 70 and I've decided the passenger side quarter needs replacing due to rust down low forward of the wheel as well as old body work above and rear of the wheel below the body line. I had considered picking up a full AMD quarter from Stephens and grabbing it at Carlisle and save the almost 100% cost of shipping, but another option is when my brothers car was being built (72 converted to 70) he had initially planned keeping it a 72 and purchased a 72 quarter skin. I have it here ready to rock and roll and it's free. My understanding is the marker light is the only difference. Is this truly the only difference in the panels and am I able to cut the panel to accept the 70 marker light?

YES, and YES....the marker light switch is quite common ...just make sure it's in the right location or the light itself will hit the trunk extension inside the trunk. :alan2cents:

When you cut off the old panel, cut a piece big enough to have the body lines in it and simply overlay it, scribe the 70's marker position, and bob's your uncle. Have fun.
