I am considering getting aftermarket replacement moldings specifically for windshield, back glass, and tail panel.  Can I get some feedback about the aftermarket ones... do they actually fit and look  right?  Tips?
I was considering the wheel opening ones too but from what I hear NONE fit right out of the box for Cudas.

Thanks!

I've used several sets of the AMD windshield moldings and a couple Challenger rear glass. I like them, they fit good, snap right into place. :bigthumb:

This Cuda has all of them including the drip rail moldings http://www.alangallantautomotiverestoration.com/PAST-RESTO---71FC7.html

I used the new AMD wheel well trim for my 70 Cuda. They fit pretty darn good out of the box.Very minor adjustments and no trimming.

@anlauto thanks much!  Any experience with the other moldings on the Cudas?  I seem to recall seeing someone post that the tail panel ones did not follow the contours of the rear quarters

@B5fourspeed thank you that is encouraging.  A friend of mine installed (some years ago) a set on his '70 Cuda and at least on the front ones they did not follow the roll at the bottom of the fender, leaving a gap, and if he tried to make them fit correctly they would have buckled.  :'(

I used one set, years ago, I believe they were from PG Classics....they never fit very good...
This Cuda also has reproduction tail panel moldings, not sure whos, but they fit okay, but they were very thin and every clip showed once in place, like the clip spread the trim wider...I wasn't impressed.

im in need of rocker trim for a 71 cuda. Anyone have any input on who makes the best? or ones to stay away from?

Mrbill426

@anlauto yikes that is not what I want... not for the cash they want for them.  Maybe I will take another look at my tail panel moldings and try to clean them up.

Not much E-body exterior trim offered, right now anyway.  Are there really that many manufactures of those molding pieces to begin with?

Dale's may have sold the trim, but I don't think they were having it manufactured  :alan2cents:

At the current time, DCS does not have any of the trim moldings available.  We are trying to bring items back into production and inventory that were dropped over the years.  Dale and Charlie strove to offer high quality reproduction pieces at a competitive price.  There is tooling that we are finding for a variety of pieces that was never put into production. As mentioned earlier, Dale also had in place a network of manufacturers who were doing various pieces for DCS.  Some of these are still around and some are no longer available.  And we will also make every effort to keep production of the parts here in the US.

As for as the imported pieces, there seems to be at least two to three different manufacturers doing many of these pieces.  Thus the reason that prices and quality can vary greatly on the same part.
