Does anyone reproduce the tapping plate that the door hinge fastens to?  This is sandwiched between the inner and outer cowl hinge panel.  I'm working on one where the threads seem to be stripped or rusty to where the hinge bolts will not grab.  I could use a nut as the bolts seem long enough, but thought I'd ask about the plate.  Any other thoughts?

I do not believe it is reproduced , so scavenging from a wrecker would be the next best choice , the other option would be to take some plate steel ,drill & tap holes & weld some nuts to the plate reinforce it to replace the factory part  :alan2cents:

If you can get access, I'd run nuts onto the installed bolts and then MIG them to the plate, making sure I didn't MIG them to the bolt, that is. That way, you still have some movement for adjustment left.  :bigthumb:
