@anlauto

Hey Alan.

Is it necessary to keep the bolt and nut clip for the belt trim?  Seems like a pain to get the nut on inside the door.  I figure 7 clips would be enough to keep the belt trim in place on the door so the bolt and nut are not needed?

Do the belt trim clips fit tight against the door and quarter or should there be a little play in them?

Does the rocker trim use 7 clips on each side?

Thanks buddy.

Is the belt molding supposed to be installed where it's closest to the side of where the glass is?  I'm going to the body shop right now to drill the holes and I just want to make sure I put them in the right spot.  The more I think about it it totally fills up that space on the top of the doors so maybe I just need to put the holes in the center?

Thank you.

Hey Alan. Hey...

Is it necessary to keep the bolt and nut clip for the belt trim? That's how the factory did it, I suppose you could put another plastic clip there  Seems like a pain to get the nut on inside the door. Not everything in life is easy  I figure 7 clips would be enough to keep the belt trim in place on the door so the bolt and nut are not needed? Okay

Do the belt trim clips fit tight against the door and quarter or should there be a little play in them? Snug, but not over tight so they start bending

Does the rocker trim use 7 clips on each side?  I believe so, plus a screw at each end

Thanks buddy.

nsmall.......... Looking through the 1970 Dodge, Challenger-Dart Service Manual, Vol. 2 and pulled up this illustration for you, hope it helps. Thanks,   Al

nsmall

Thanks.  Man I love ebodies.  Even that service manual black and white challenger does it for me.

As for the bolt.  It was a non issue.  The hard part is getting the trim to look nice at the end near the firewall as it gets pretty skinny up there on my 73 Cuda.  I love belt moldings, they do it for me.

This site is great, it also does it for me.

Thank you too, nsmall, glad to be of help, buddy. I've had all of the SE trim off my '70 Challenger at least a couple times, it can get a little hairy getting it back on sometimes. Hey! Maybe we'll touch down at the Fall Fling this year. I'll be wearing that new Roseville MOPAR hat.   Thanks,   Al

Not all '70 'cudas had a screw on the front edge of the belt moulding.  Does anyone here have knowledge of that?

nsmall

I'll look for you Al.  I love fall and spring fling.  That show in Ohio made ours seems little.  Would like to go to Carlisle sp? sometime

It's not on the front edge, it's on the rear edge  :alan2cents:
