I've tried a search and looking online. I didn't have any luck but I'm trying to figure out what color of paint was used for the made in Canada stamp that goes on the front fender brackets was it White or Yellow. My MMC book is in black and white so I can't tell from the picture in there.

Other question I have is did all the brackets come with that ink stamp on them. My brackets have the made in Canada stamped into the steel with the part number. So did they also ink stamp the made in Canada even though stamped into steel.

Is that the front bumper bracket?  It looks like it is.  On a 1970 e-body L.A. car I'm working, now, with factory front rubber bumper, the brackets were in decent shape and original black paint.  they do not bear that stamp at all.  I don't think the brackets were ever removed (car is in original paint, too) because there is only one set of circular age marks (from the washers on the bolts) on the brackets.  if they were ever removed (and the stamp cleaned off) it would have to have been before 1980.

I'm not 100% certain, but I am pretty sure the Made in Canada stamps were just found on OEM parts made up north sold as replacement parts, but not on parts used on the assembly line when the car was built.

avatar_JH27N0B @JH27N0B I hope some other people give there thoughts on that I mean that makes sense. That's only on OEM parts.

One example, for a while through the 90s, all the restoration places were stamping Made in Canada on radiator top tanks.  Then it was documented from unrestored survivor cars and vintage photos that the radiators weren't stamped that way when new. So that restoration trend stopped.
The air cleaner base on my T/A has a part number and made in Canada paint stamped on the bottom.  I know it was replaced with a new one in 76 or 77 after someone stole the air cleaner off the car.  I've heard original ones didn't have made in Canada on them.

Ok it makes sense that it's on parts that are over the counter. Maybe something to do with selling it or shipping it across the border.

The more I'm thinking of it seems like a waste of time to have it stamped that way on the assembly line. There's no benefit to moving it down the line. Like the ENGINE SIDE stamp on the fan makes sense and part numbers.

:iagree: I found a few NOS bumper brackets at old dealerships over the years, those had a yellow stamp.
Interesting that some E-body bumpers must have been manufactured in Canada.
This was a replacement front bumper on a 70 Challenger.

Yea the 2 sets I have were definitely made in Canada they are for CUDAs so I don't know if that would make a difference or not.
It's pretty clearly stamped made in Canada that's why I was wondering why they would also ink stamp it on there.

Mr Cuda

I looked at my stack and all the as installed ones have so much grime or undercoating, there would be no way to see the ink stamp.
But I have some replacement brackets, still with the parts sticker and the yellow ink.
The main difference between my as installed parts and the replacements is the size of the bolt holes.
I don't know when production changed, but my bent originals all have the small oval.

Thanks avatar_Mr Cuda @Mr Cuda I never noticed the difference in the bolt hole size one set I have they were enlarged at some point to fit and the other one has completely different type of holes on one side the other is the smaller ones.

I've bought mine from members on these sites so I have no idea what's factory original or bought over the counter.

I agree with the "MADE IN CANADA" paint/ink/stickers ONLY on NOS, over-the-counter, replacement parts not on assembly line installed parts

Ok thanks to all who replied. I'm going to go with no stamp on my build
