Purchased car with the bumper in its current condition. Looks like it was tapped slightly towards the drivers side of centre. I'm assuming the brackets are slightly tweaked and the bumper bent. was wondering if its worth trying the fix the bumper or save myself the headache and by a new one.

From what I can see, it looks repairable.
Get an estimate to repair / refinish and compare to  new replacement cost.

Short story:
The bumper on my Challenger where it wraps around the passenger fender had a 10 degree CCW twist when viewed from the side.
It was able to be fixed.

Long story:
When buying my Challenger I was curious about the strange way the bumper looked.
So I asked the guy I was buying the car from what happened. He said it was the final straw in deciding to sell the car. You see his wife liked driving it, but would be a bit careless. Well, one day she was backing out of their garage and the car "got stuck". She thought there was something stuck under the wheel and gunned the engine it to get over it. Turns out she hooked the bumper onto right hand rail for the overhead door. Well she twisted the bumper and ripped the garage frame and door off the garage.

Back in the day, the guy beside me had the sweetest set of about 1/4" thick and 1.50" wide by 2" long J hooks connected by a 12" length of 1/4"chain and something like that would be the cat's ass here, as you hooked them over the top and bottom and then hooked a come-along into the chain and they would pull without putting any gouges in the bumper and were strong enough to pull the bracket as well. A suitable piece of 2X4 and a BFH were a nice accompaniment. What have you got to lose? Just my  :alan2cents:

Easily fixed but probably cheaper to buy new, problem is I bet the repros are crappy quality and not sure how they hold up?
