Challenger Trunk gutter pics

Anyone have good pictures of trunk gutter to sail panel for reference?

What are you looking for exactly the line from the trunk gutter through rear deck panel?

 Just trying to see how the quarter panel lip matches up to the sail panel. I know the gutter goes under the quarter lip and sail panel. My quarters are solid and I don't want for replace them just to get the corners. Any pictures for a reference of body lines in the corners would help.

When your looking at the photos there is still a small section of the deck panel still attached to the flange on the quarter this deck panel had been replaced once prior to this presumably before reproduction  panels were available. It looks like the body person before cut one from a donor car he cut it long by about 2 inches then he overlaid the edges he cut long (Which was part of the quarter from the donor car)  on to this cars quarter and sank it into to the quarter basically caving and paving that area with filler.

@nepatfn     Welcome to the forum.  Hope these help.  Use seam sealer after the metal work is done.

This is a brand new quarter that came with the trunk gutter spot welded on. Not sure if all manufacturers do this or not. You can see how the gutter rail goes under the quarter lip and there is room for the Dutchman panel to fit in along the top. The Dutchman panel would also overlap the trunk gutter but butt up against the quarter .

Yes these pics help a ton. I thought that was how it should be but wanted to be sure I was on the right track. Thanks to everyone who posted. I appreciate it. My dad tried repairing this section when I first bought the car in 1990 and it kept the trunk dry but wasn't right and he knew it then. He has since passed before I could redo it with him and I am trying to redo it because he was always pissed he didn't repair it the right way. Thanks again to all!!!

Hi Cody, The paint inside the trunk and interior looks very good it looks like that part was done in one session. Did you spray it ? I sprayed my trunk out separate IMO that is the toughest part of the car to spray with all the over spray obscuring things. care to share the spray progression I mean on the interior did the painter get inside and spray the vertical portions first or just lean in?

@Mopar5  I did the paint myself.  It's not easy painting a trunk, but with good prep it will come out nice.  Having a semi down draft booth with a cross flow really keeps the over spray to a minimum.

Nice having a booth, But regardless even with a booth with good ventilation painting its still a lot of work all your senses are on point when you paint. One  thing is I get a fair amount of exercise normally but the next day after painting which I do not do every day I usually get a little soreness from all the movements required by painting it is really a workout.
