Does anyone know if the clips for the 1970 Challenger SE tail panel trim is available anywhere, or has anyone found some that will work?  I only have a few of the original ones left because they broke when removing it.

I don't think so. I made my own that hooked the  edge on the bottom of the molding and epoxied them to the molding. Sorry no photos.

You have a huge advantage, usually the folks with SE panels have no clips....  Please post a picture....  There are no exact clips available that I've ever seen.. but there are clips that can be made to work... Especially since you have an original to see what it's supposed to do....    Once the panel is bolted in place the clips can't be seen so you can take a larger clip & cut/bend it to do the job...

I think there are kits, but they are not cheap.  Might check with @MoparDave  to see if he sells them.

Cody, you've got to know Jim's is never to be trusted... They are known crooks....
Besides after following the link & scrolling around turns out they aren't claiming too have the clips.....  They are charging $199 for six screws & six easily sourced clips that typically sell for $5.... & calling it a kit but make no mention of the clips for the bottom edge of the panel....

From their website...

The six clips are like these...

Here are some pictures of the clips.  The first two pictures are of the one that holds the quarter molding down, they should be easy enough to duplicate.  The other two are for the bottom of the trim panel.  As RunCharger said, should be easy enough to come up with something that can be epoxied in place.  I have a little metal shop in my basement, so I should be able to come up with something, just usually easier to buy it.  I also agree that the clips shown on Jim's don't sound right and WAAAAY overpriced!

The hunt for those rare clips come up every so often with not much for results. I need a couple myself and like you have a couple, which is the good start on how to fabricate some. I sure like your machine shop set up, and that should be a start for coming up with a clip that will work. One issue is, the clip has to be hardened steel so as not to lose its tension after installation. I would think the easiest way is to do as Randy mentioned is to use a different clip and epoxy it to the trim. It would need to be trimmed down to fit under the lip and small enough to fit the panel with out having it push it away from the body.

Using Jim's for parts might be ok in person, but do so with caution. I have friends who have been burned by their M/O.

After posting the prior comment, use good sense and use someone who has a good reputation.

Good luck with the project.
