So I bought a repop RH mirror for my non RH equipped car.
I've got the mirror, gasket and 2 screws.

What are the screws going to secure to?

Use Nutserts and stainless machine screws. That worked for me anyhow. Not sure if it's " correct" or not?

Maybe it was me, I didn't have much luck with the Harbor Freight kit I bought.  It seemed I had to tighten the insert so tight where it wouldn't spin, I pulled the threads out of the aluminum insert.  I sourced the 10-24 inserts in steel like the originals were, my next problem was the cheaper tool wouldn't work with the steel inserts.  I ponied up and bought the Mac Tool nut setter and all the problems went away, loaned it out many times to friends over the years.
