Hi gang can any one tell me if there is a difference from a 70 barracuda rear licence plate  bracket to a 71 /74 licence plate bracket.??  I read some were that 70 plate edge folds in towards the rear panel and 71 /74 edge folds  out ? The over thing would any one have a good picture of the under side of a complete bracket and spring Thank you

You probably read that from something I posted. I had/have both plates in my possession at one time. The one on my car and one that came off a '71 tail panel I bought ages ago. My guess is this was changed because people's fingers were getting cut on the sharp edge if it sprung back on them.

I would really love to have some members check their 1970 Cuda/Barracuda cars to confirm this.
The last picture is the underside of that '71+ license plate bracket I sold.

If I remember to, I'll check mine.   It's a 70 with a September 69 build date.   Now...how do I confirm it's the original?  Is there a date code stamped into the bracket somewhere?

If there is I can't remember. Sorry, but I'm not too keen on taking mine off to look.

My Apr build date AAR is the same as the 1970 picture

I've noticed that none of the reproduction ones look like my white 1970 one yet they're marketed as '70 to '74. Obviously they'll work just fine and it makes more sense to produce a part with a wider application.

Thanks @Jay Bee, that's another cool little detail about these cars that I never noticed before.

Here's a pic of the one on my 70 Cuda, with the sharp edges pointing towards the tail panel.

The OP still needs this answered. Pictures I've seen of restored cars show it to be "natural". Mines been body color since I had the car but I believe that's not correct.
