Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know of a company that cleans & repairs vintage dealership metal emblems. Would like to get this cleaned up and put back on the car.

Looks like it's in really good shape.  You can probably easily do it yourself.

:iagree:  but if you do too good of a job then it's gonna look like a repop.  :alan2cents:

I think I have a keychain from LSD(as we call it)   :haha:

Send it out to get re-chromed and make it real shiny  :)

Funny I've  noticed in the past few years or so the resurgence of dealership emblems on cars at shows and cruises. Restorers and hobbyists are returning them to the cars they're restoring, if it's known. Some are the metal emblems others are the dealership decals. I personally know the dealership I bought mine at as a trade-in which is Moss Motors Dodge here in Riverside Ca. (Which is now Moss Bros. Chrysler, Jeep, Ram) I could not get a dealership emblem, because they didn't put them on cars. But I have 2 or 3 sets of dealership license plate frames that originally came with the car, in superb condition, these are the chrome plated metal and painted drop cast frames. They give the car roots, they'll have to do.     Thanks,   Al

Here's my only connection to the roots of my car.       Thanks,   Al

I think it's a cool addition. Hopefully if the emblem gets rechromed it won't lose any detail.

It would lose detail & being pot metal it could disintegrate... I would not rechrome it, I would clean & polish whats there & redo the paint....

Yes: There's always that chance. I had some 64 Polara tail light bezels rechromed and you will get them looking nice but not the same as when new.
