Do both styles of mirror ( standard and racing remote) use the same holes?

I bought my partially completed 70 Challenger with a standard mirror. Underneath it are two nut inserts for mounting and a cleanly punched hole for a remote cable. I want to go with a racing style remote on drivers side and racing on the other side. Is it safe to assume these three holes are correct for either style of mirror. I have glass out and find no evidence of other holes having been there.
