I have a question on the door jam area. I have this "drain" type hole on the driver side but not on the passenger side. Is this suppose to be seam sealed? Or open for draining??  BTW I would love to see some pictures of some  jams! I googled and found no close ups of this area!

realn96

wow that's not good news! guess ill have to close it up?

I think I remember that hole?  Let me go look at some cars...  stand by:

It might be a drain, but more likely a line up hole?  Some of the cars I can access right now have the hole and others have it somewhat welded up or gooped up.  I wouldn't close it up.  Maybe the factory put seem sealer on it and I might have missed doing that in my restoration.   :notsure:  Either way, looks factory to me.   :alan2cents:

Np.  I think Cody is correct with it being for alignment.  The brace underneath it has the same hole. I welded it to support that area while I do the repair. It's there just hard to see

No hole like that on either of my door jams.  :notsure:

My 73 has it on at least one side.  I questioned it when I saw it covered with seam sealer.  It's not a drain though.  The rocker pinch-welds have the drains in them.  The water that leaks down past the 1/4 window "fuzzies" drains out the pinch-welds.

like cody said i'll leave it alone! 1 side will have it the other not! thanks for the pictures cody!
