Floor Wiring Cover

Planning to install the two piece floor wiring cover in a 71 Barracuda.  Is there a gap between the two pieces?  I've looked at a few threads and I came across one that did.  I've got an old pic of my car, but the front piece is missing.  Looks like the brackets get welded to the floor and then bent upwards towards the inner rocker.  Assuming no welding along the top inner rocker?
Any thoughts?

I seem to remember there being a small gap between them on mine, but that's been 15 years ago since the forward one broke off and then just lied there under the carpet

3/4" gap in between the covers. Tabs are welded to the floor under the covers and fold over.
