I was originally intending to set my glass with 5/16" butyl tape but when I dry fitted the rear glass, I noticed the channel depth was deeper on the passenger side, which would affect the molding fitment. So now I am considering the use of urethane and making the bead a little higher on the one side to keep the glass at a consistent height.

1. Is there a correct way to compensate for the different channel height using the butyl tape? I would still like to go this route since I have already purchased the tape and do not want to deal with applying caulk because if I screw something up, I think it will be more difficult to fix.

2. If I go the urethane route, it seems like using a tape dam on the glass would make the installation cleaner. Has anyone done it this way?

was considering this: https://www.amazon.com/Weatherstrip-Insulation-Stripping-Isolation-Soundproofing/dp/B0BNWQ6N7Q/ref=sr_1_13?crid=32HOUAGF2772J&keywords=1%2F4in%2BWide%2Bx%2B1%2F4%2BSingle%2BSided%2BAdhesive%2BFoam%2BSeal%2BTape%2C%2B32FT&qid=1697461111&sprefix=1%2F4in%2Bwide%2Bx%2B1%2F4%2Bsingle%2Bsided%2Badhesive%2Bfoam%2Bseal%2Btape%2C%2B32ft%2Caps%2C224&sr=8-13&th=1
