Sorry if this is an old subject

I have replaced the outer rocker panel hinge panel and A-pillar on LH (drivers side) and about to do hinge panel and rocker on RH side now. Issue I am having is on drivers side I had door on with quarter. The hinges are as far forward as they can go and it still appears to be about 3/4 of an inch short, door will not close.

Anyone have measurements on that area? so I can double check my work.

I don't want to repeat same issue on passenger side... what is best order to replace to ensure proper fitment?
I am using a homemade jig and bracing both times. I know replacement panels are not the best but they should be fairly close?

Can you use the "click or drag files here to attach them" link and share some photos.  Might be easier to see what you are dealing with from some photos.

Here are photos from drivers side... I already took the door off... Would the fact I added new hinges or used a 1970 door make a difference?

Both sides should measure the same. Measure the right side before doing anything else and compare it to the right.

3/4" is a lot to be off, if the passenger side is still somewhat intact measure the opening top and bottom along the pinch welds as well as the jamb area, if those are the same on the drivers side that would led me to believe it`s the hinges or hinge plate location.

Can you compare old hinge to the new hinge? Maybe a long shot but we have all seen aftermarket parts that were too long or too short.

It's not likely in the hinge IMHO. I don't like the vertical alignment of the upr and lwr hinge bolt holes and it seems to me that the A pillar came down inside the hinge pillar. It's nearly midnight here and I'll try to remember to go down in the morning and look at mine as I also changed the hinge pillars on my Challenger. I welded a brace from the rocker inr up to the A pillars to keep them from sagging or walking as a suggestion for the rt side. Long story short, I suspect you have the hinge pillar in too far back and will try to get you my measurements. Good call to check first and cut/weld later.  :bigthumb:
