How is stainless steel trim bent?

In particular, the grille moulding for a 72-74 Challenger. I'm assuming that this stuff is extruded. How is it bent into shape without collapsing the moulding?

There is probably a special die mold and it is stamped out in one shot that would be my guess.

I am not sure either. Joel At Metro had the tool for this until a barbeque fire burnt the warehouse and that tool. Never rebuilt it but he may be redoing them now.

I usually bend mine by leaving them on the roof or deck and then knocking them off to stand on them. Works for me!  :D

Yep, or trying to polish them and the buffing wheel catches an edge.  That will bend them in a hurry.
