Ok, this is going appear stupid and I'll take the hits, but I received a large (for me) shipment of parts today from AMD and the inner hinge panel "appears" damaged but I can't get to my car to check it against the original right now.

As I mock it up against the outer hing panel, the rear of the inner panel doesn't line up, it can't, because the is a huge "wave" in it. See below...  Can someone confirm this is damaged for me? Seeing how this is where there should be a nice seam where the to parts meet and the kick panel goes, I can't see that wave being "normal".

Again, total rookie question, from a total rookie. This just doesn't seem "right"..

Thanks

Your not crazy, that looks to have been drooped. It can be straightened out.  :alan2cents:

They fit like crap, at least they did on my car.  The pinch weld flange did not patch the outer well at all, and they added a bend at the top of it that shouldn't even be there.  If you are doing the driver side, watch out for the parking brake pedal bracket weld nut being welded to the wrong side of the panel!  Mine was.

I don't know, they fit alright on my Challenger, but I didn't have the "factory altered" parts either! As for the bent parts, the biggest issue would be taking a piece of plywood/thin wood and using it as a bar, hammer the edges of the bend flat again. I've used two hammers- one a peen type- to do it as well. As for the "wow" in the other, it's simply an armstrong deal. No biggie, but a PITA nonetheless, eh?

Thanks for confirming I'm not losing it, at least not this time.

I've been reading now, these parts from dynacorn have better fitment? Anyone have any opinions on that?

Yup...it's like it needs some lovin....call up AMD and they may send you a new one if you're that worried about it.  :alan2cents: if not, take the five minutes and straighten it out yourself  :dunno:

Might only take a few minutes to straighten it out but for $200 usd, I shouldn't have to. I'm not on the clock or getting paid to do this so I can be patient.

More of a PITA to order a new one and send the old one back along with wait time. It's pretty siimple to straighten it and use it IMO. It's when you get into the more complicated parts that come in damaged that it becomes a problem. Probably 1/3 of AMD parts come in damaged due to their poor packaging and handling.

I haven't dealt directly with AMD a lot, but they will likely send you a new one and tell you to keep the old one.... :alan2cents:

Did you buy directly from them, that's the question ?

Not from them, but through a very reputable vendor who is working to make it right on my behalf.
