I had somebody at Carlilse tell me that the "correct" shock tower body plugs in the trunk (near the spare) of my 70 AAR should be ORANGE.  I had never heard this before, I think I've seen them for 71 + Cudas - but I thought I'd run it by the EXPERTS - what say you ? :o

I'm dubious they were making plastics in colors like orange and used in production vehicles 50 years ago.  painted orange, maybe.  but originally in orange?  my instinct says "fake news."

My early build (october of '70) 1971 Challenger with the shock hardware access holes still not yet changed from the '70 trunk location, has orange plastic plugs.  However I thought all the '70s had metal discs with hardware to be removed to access the top of the shocks.
In one of the shots of an unrestored '70 cuda here you can see what I am referring to.

Here is what DMT sells, the lower disc part of the plug assembly you don't see much of from looking in the trunk looks orange though,

Pretty sure my 70 Challenger had the orange gaskets with metal plates your talking about, built in the same time frame as the T/A cars were. I boughtit in 1979 from the original owner.

Based on the links / pics you sent it looks to me like the orange with metal (that DMT sells) is the correct answer- Thank You !

They aren't plastic, they are an orange rubber pad with a metal plate on top

I'd never really gave the access plugs much thought beyond knowing the metal disc assembly was correct for my T/A when I did its restoration.
But in my October 70 build 1971 it has orange plugs.  Were these correct for 71's, had they done a cost reduction from the plug assembly to a one piece plastic plug like is on my '71, starting with that model year, or was it supposed to have the metal disc style plug assembly for the shock hardware access carried over from 1970 too?

My December 1970 build Challenger has the metal plate with orange rubber gasket.
