Trying to make a little progress so switching from B-pillar to the wheel housing.  I cut most of the quarter off to gain access. It appears that the inner and outer wheel housings were resistance seam welded together before going in on the production line?  I can only see spot welds where they are joined to other panels.  How do you go about splitting them apart, especially on the top and front areas where they are sandwiched?
If I can reasonably replace the whole thing I'd like to because it is pretty thin in various places, besides the holes on the wheel arc edge.

Secondly, I have AMD panels that came with a small tab or bracket that I haven't been able to figure where that goes?

Thirdly?  Shouldn't the outer housing be welded to the box going up to the roof support?

I grind through the outer wheelhouse that I'm sacrificing and leave the inner intact. Yeah, that's suposed to be welded, that will make it really easy to pull it apart anyway.

This is how I removed my outer wheel well. A harbor freight spot weld cutter bit and using a regular drill bit on some spots.  There are a lot of spot welds holding the inner and outer together.

I'll look closer but I didn't see any evidence of spot welds yesterday.  Luckily it is not in too bad of shape near the joint so splicing is a possibility.

So the wire wheel revealed what I was missing. The heat rings from the spot welds show nicely under the grime, but they don't have the pit that the welds usually do.

Can I assume from your pics that there are welds under that box member from the roof structure that need to be drilled from the inside only? The pic isn't too clear.  I see what looks like a line of holes on the inside through the inner housing, or do those go all the way through?  Are those all required to get the outer housing loose?

@73 plymouth barracuda  No capital "P" in plymouth. When the tag is correct it turns blue and underlined.

I think I used the spot weld cutter to cut the wheel well free from there structure from the outside.  Then used a drill bit to drill the spot welds that hold the inner and outer wheel well together from the inside. There probably is an easier way but that is what worked for me.
