Question about a rear spoiler for 74

I recently purchased a 74 challenger and it does not have a rear spoiler. I personally like the look of the spoiler but was curious if you guys and gals are aware of a newer style of spoiler available that will fit with little modifications. Nothing against the classic looking spoiler but I think I want to try something different with my car.  Not sure if there is a manufacturer that makes a newer looking style spoiler to fit the classic body or if I will just have to buy a classic spoiler and cut and shape it. I have attached a picture of what I'm trying to achieve as an end result. Any thoughts or input is greatly appreciated.

I remember seeing one on an ebody and it looked great but don't know how much modification was done to it

A 70-71 Challenger named "Shake Down" has a custom-made modern type spoiler.

 The spoiler almost looks like the stock 2015-19 spoiler. It would be good to measure up the spoiler on a newer Challenger. Interesting that the car Shake Down has also incorporated the new Challengers' tail light assembly so it looks almost like a one piece unit. The center section of the taillights goes up with the trunk lid making it a heavy lid on the newer Challengers. You can see the gap between the inner and outer lights on Shake Down but not the large gap like on the new Challengers.

You're going to have to modify a fiberglass T/A spoiler.
Might as well add a backup camera while at.

@IRON MAN thanks for the info that is the look I'm wanting. Now to investigate how or who made it.

I am going to take my challenger to my local dodge dealer and have them bring out a new version spoiler so I can lay it on and see the differences. Hopefully it's not too much involved but I'll update when I find out. Worst case I just go with the 70 T/A spoiler.

Why not look into the 70 T/A spoiler?

That's exactly what I put on my '74 last year, and it looks great.

I had a local company make a graphic that says "Challenger Rallye" that looks exactly how the "Challenger TA" looks on the early 70's models, and that turned out better than I hoped it would.

Whatever you decide to do for a rears spoiler, access holes will have to be made. Here is how I did the access holes:

DODGE built "Shake Down" as a concept car for SEMA Show several years ago. The tail lights were removed from a modern Challenger and fitted to a 71 Challenger. Shake Down also has a modern grill, modern spoiler, 6.4 L Hemi, Viper 6-spd, the body is mounted on a full frame chassis with independent suspension, etc

So a modern 2016 spoiler can be made to fit. This information was gleaned from a Top Gear article.

 If the 2015 and up spoiler will work on a 70 Challenger trunk lid, the extra holes in the bottom of the trunk lid may not be needed. The spoiler on the new Challengers has a threaded screw on each end of the trunk lid about an inch in from the trunk lid sides. The rest of the spoiler is attached with 3M double sided tape. My trunk lid was damaged at the dealer on my 2015 Challenger by the service tech who used a pry bar to try and remove the spoiler to check the backup camera connection instead of gently getting the tape to release. The plug is actually accessible inside the trunk by removing the carpet from the bottom of lid. Anyway it was an expensive ($600) mistake. Then, someone damaged my tail lights trying to reinstall them and it cost almost $1000 for that mistake. See the photo of the damage. Only two screws are used to hold the new Challenger spoilers on. The rest is tape.

I'd buy a repro 70 t/a spoiler and then modify it with that center swoop-down look. At least then you know the bottom contour and length fit your car with no modifications.

I thought of this. I am just not sure if the abs 70 T/A spoiler is solid abs or has a hollow center? If solid then I would be willing to give it a try and notch the center.
