Small plate in trunk. What is this?

What is this part?  Been searching, can't find out.
It's on the passenger's side trunk floor.

I've found other photos online, and many restored car photos that I've seen don't have it.  One T/A trunk floor picture has one on each side, though my Challenger has no holes on the driver's side.  I checked my AAR, which is in a fully assembled state, and it has only the plate on the passenger's side.  Dove underneath and there were two studs sticking down with no nuts on them (thanks, previous owners).

Does this actually do anything, or is it a dunsel?

:iagree:  Yup, Exhaust hanger for rear exiting exhaust systems.  There will be two (one on each side) for dual rear exhaust systems.

AAR Cudas and T/A Challenger should not have any of those plates. They may have the holes with seam sealer over them on the passenger side.
Single exhaust cars will have one plate on the passenger side of the car, dual exhaust cars will have two. :alan2cents:

So it's p/n 2962163 "Muffler rear support floor pan" in parts book?  I discounted it being an exhaust part because I thought single exhaust ran down the drivers side of car.

OK, I should have looked in the service manual instead of the parts book.  Clear picture in there.  My guess is that there are probably dimples in the trunk floor to drill for the driver's side.

I see that Dale's Cuda shop has the entire hanger set.  Does anyone sell the plates separately?
I will have a TTI system, and their website indicates that the rear hangers are included in the exhaust system, but not the plates.  I can call on Monday to confirm.

P.S.  My AAR's got one on the passenger's side.  But who knows what's happened in the past half century.
