Anyone have any advice for sound proofing my 1973 dodge challenger. Car has a in tank high pressure fuel pump for the installed fitech efi system. It produces a droning sound that is audible while driving.any suggestions would be appreciated.

Fatmat, dynamat, etc.

There are even cheaper choices that some have tried and seem to work well. I had Fatmat put down and it's helped but you could also try to isolate the fuel pump noise. Unfortunately most fuel pumps for efi are embedded in the tank that that makes it twice as hard.

I can't hear my in-tank pump unless the engine is off. Before suggesting generic sound-proofing options:

• How is the tank isolated from the body? Do you have a mat on top? Anything on the straps?
  
  
• Unclip/unhook any fuel hose retainers and see if the noise goes away, I've seen fuel lines transmit noise through a car.

I agree: Make sure you have a tank mat and run some isolators on the straps.
