Installing rear torque boxes in 70 E-body. I've seen pictures where they have two reinforcing plates sandwiching the forward leaf spring hangar bracket attachment area. Anyone know the thickness of those particular plates?

Maybe a 1/16" RestoRick sells very accurate reproductions of them

In all my years of racing mopars in various forms of motorsports, I've never seen this area flex or get damaged by non-contact racing.  That includes 4200 rpm drag launches on slicks and a prepared track.

The OEM stuff is pretty thin, I'm guessing 14 gauge (.0747").  The aftermarket versions of these I've seen were 3/16 (.1875").
