Is the shiny portion of the weatherstrip channel stainless or chrome?  I want to know how aggressive I can be in polishing it.
Thanks

If you don't have any dings in them, a sewn cloth wheel that replaces a stone on your bench grinder and a couple of grits of buffing compound (green and white)will allow you to get them to a mirror-like sheen. If they've got scuffs or scratches, you can sand those out finishing with a 1000, 1500 or 2000 grit paper before you buff it back to a shine. Dings can also be carefully tapped out, filed and sanded. Good luck!

I agree with the above.  I had to sand mine down in a few spots to fix damage.  They polished up nice when done.
